History

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Law, the HKU Law Alumni Association was established in 1989 by a group of law alumni with the strong encouragement of Mr. Peter Rhodes, the then Dean of the Faculty.  The Association has been an unincorporated body since 2001.  In 2005, the Association changed its name to "The University of Hong Kong Law Alumni Association". The main objectives of the Association have been to promote fellowship between law students and alumni, to assist in furthering the interests of the Faculty, and to promote legal education in Hong Kong.

Since its establishment, the Association has organized various events to mark the anniversaries of the Faculty and the University.  Those events allow alumni to get together and share their personal reminiscences of their student days.  The Association has also organized various events for the law students, such as Talks by outstanding alumni, Law Mentorship Programme and Interview Workshops.
