PhD candidate, Faculty of Law; research fields: Intellectual Property Law and E-Commerce in the Digital World

Ms. Carmen Yam is a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong. She graduated with First-Class Honours in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Birmingham where she was ranked First in the intellectual property law cohort of her year. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Hong Kong during which she was recruited as a research assistant. In 2018, she was invited by the Intellectual Property Department of the HKSAR Government to act as an Intellectual Property Ambassador to give seminars and sharing at schools about the knowledge and development of intellectual property. Recently, she is invited to give lectures on alternative financial law and FinTech to LLB and LLM cohorts. Prior to joining academia, she worked at a Magic Circle law firm in Hong Kong.
